July 2016 Beauty Favorites

July is gone, and August is here, and before you know it, it’s going to be Christmas. Crazy right? Well product wise, July was really good to me, and I came across some products that I absolutely fell in love with, and will be using them from now on. All but one are new to me, minus a rekindled love affair that I missed so much.

As you will see, much of the focus is on skin, as it’s been hot and I just want to keep my skin looking as fresh and clean as possible, as well as when I do actually wear makeup, make sure that it looks flawless!

So check out what my favorite products from July have been!

shishedo white lucent brightening

Price: $54.50

Description: A brightening daytime moisturizer developed with a focus on environmental stressors such as UV rays, air pollution and dryness to provide comprehensive protection. Recommended for dry skin.

Thoughts: This is the most decadent moisturizer for my very dry skin. How my skin becomes dryer in summer months is beyond me, so I have to take extreme measures to moisturize or my skin will look like its peeling from a sunburn, and its just dry. A friend of mine actually gave this too me as it was too emollient for her skin. I haven’t been able to live without it. It literally makes my skin glow. When people ask you what highlighter you’re wearing and it’s just your skin, I say it’s a winner.

MAC Cosmetics “Lovelorn” Lipstick

mac lovelorn lipstick

Price: $17

Thoughts: No this isn’t something new or revolutionary. It’s just a favorite that came back in rotation. This was the first pink lipstick I ever purchased almost 10 years ago. I recently was cleaning out my car and found and old purse, and low and behold in a pocket was my long time love. I haven’t worn it in about 2 years. It wasn’t melted, and I decided to wear it again. Perfect pink for me!

Price: $11.99

Description: The first specific makeup removing micellar water for combination or oily skin that mimics the natural composition of the skin for perfect makeup removal and total respect for even the most sensitive skin. Thanks to the  Fluidactiv(TM) patented sebo-correcting complex, it biologically regulates sebum quality to keep the pores from becoming clogged and clear up the skin. Enriched with purifying agencts, zinc gluconate and copper sulphate, it purifies the skin and limits sebaceous secretion.

Thoughts: I recieved this product in an Essence Beauty Box. Right when I was getting ready to purchase a full size bottle, I stumbled upon the Garnier Micellar Water at Target instead and purchased that one. While the Bioderma one smells better, it does the same exact thing and was half the price.

cover fx mattifying primer

Price: $16

Description: Lightweight, water-resistant gel primer that helps keep skin matte while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and pores.

Thoughts: I purchased this primer in an attempt to help combat oily faces for a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic that had both an outdoor ceremony and reception. This primer really stood the test of time and made for minimal to no touch ups. Great for an outdoor shoot, or just a client that has very oily skin.
