Preparing Your Pout for Matte Colors

Helpful tips on how to prepare your pout for matte lips!

I’m not always a fan of matte colors, but the right hue will get me every time. Whenever I wear dark colors I tend to go for matte colors (my reds, wines and plum colors).

I shared on Instagram how much it irritates me when I see matte colors on chapped lips. I can’t be the only one bothered by this, am I right?!

Prepping your lips for matte colors is extremely important. Not only do you want to ensure that your color is going to apply properly (evenly, and long lasting) you don’t want to do any additional harm to your lips. Matte products by nature can be drying, and if your lips are already dry, you’re adding insult to injury. Putting salt in an open wound. Literally.

Here are some tips to keep your lips perfect and supple before applying matte colors: Continue reading “Preparing Your Pout for Matte Colors”

The BEST Lash Glues (for strips)

I’m obsessed with wearing strip lashes. They just give me the extra umph I need whenever I have a full face, and I feel naked without them. They just always up the ante!

One thing I don’t like is feeling insecure that one of my lashes (or both) will try and forsake me and be gone with the wind. For that reason I make sure I use lash glues that really get the job done and will last all day.

I’m sharing my two favorite lash glues with you.

How I Remove All My Makeup

4-step-makeup-removal-process

I don’t always wear makeup, but when I do, I tend to pile it on. The second best feeling to taking your bra off, just might be removing all of your makeup.

When removing my makeup, I want to know that every drop of product is gone and that I won’t be clogging my pores or leaving leaving residue on my pillowcases. I also have horrible anxiety, and I believe I immediately get blemishes and breakouts. I know, I’m dramatic…

To make sure my skin is squeaky clean, I use a 4 step process that I have detailed below. You may think that 4 steps might be too many, but I have a method to my madness, and if you keep reading you’ll see why.

Favorite Fall Lip Colors

Fall Lip Combos Cover (2)

Fall is absolutely one of my most favorite seasons of the year, running a close second to summer. I love everything from the changing leaves, the more saturated color palettes, the layering of fabrics. What is there not to love?!?

While I’m normally one for pinky nude lip colors, fall is the time I start to really get into warmer lip tones and have more fun. I will lean more toward matte colors and turn up the drama and the color volume.

There is nothing like a nice vampy lip color for the fall months! #makeup #beauty Click To Tweet

Here are some of my favorite fall lipstick and liner combos.

“Potent Fig” lipstick with “Nightmoth” lipliner

3

This mattene color is easy to apply and boasts no drying or feathering. It lasts for hours upon hours. Potent fig while a limited edition color, you can easily find other color to duplicate the look. Other colors to try will be MAC “Power My Spirit”.

“Diva” lipstick lined with “Vino” lipliner

1

This matte intense reddish burgundy pairs very well with the wine shade liner. To get the most intense color pay off for the combination, I like to line and fill in my entire lip with the liner and then apply the lipstick on top. Another color to achieve a similar look would be MAC’s “Sin” lipstick as well.

“Photo” lipstick with “Chestnut” lipliner

2

A satin golden brown color, Photo is a great choice for women with a bit more melanin in their skin. Depending on your complexion it can read chocolate or more nude.
