I don’t always wear makeup, but when I do, I tend to pile it on. The second best feeling to taking your bra off, just might be removing all of your makeup.
When removing my makeup, I want to know that every drop of product is gone and that I won’t be clogging my pores or leaving leaving residue on my pillowcases. I also have horrible anxiety, and I believe I immediately get blemishes and breakouts. I know, I’m dramatic…
To make sure my skin is squeaky clean, I use a 4 step process that I have detailed below. You may think that 4 steps might be too many, but I have a method to my madness, and if you keep reading you’ll see why.

Fall is absolutely one of my most favorite seasons of the year, running a close second to summer. I love everything from the changing leaves, the more saturated color palettes, the layering of fabrics. What is there not to love?!?
While I’m normally one for pinky nude lip colors, fall is the time I start to really get into warmer lip tones and have more fun. I will lean more toward matte colors and turn up the drama and the color volume.
Here are some of my favorite fall lipstick and liner combos.
“Potent Fig” lipstick with “Nightmoth” lipliner
This mattene color is easy to apply and boasts no drying or feathering. It lasts for hours upon hours. Potent fig while a limited edition color, you can easily find other color to duplicate the look. Other colors to try will be MAC “Power My Spirit”.
“Diva” lipstick lined with “Vino” lipliner
This matte intense reddish burgundy pairs very well with the wine shade liner. To get the most intense color pay off for the combination, I like to line and fill in my entire lip with the liner and then apply the lipstick on top. Another color to achieve a similar look would be MAC’s “Sin” lipstick as well.
“Photo” lipstick with “Chestnut” lipliner
A satin golden brown color, Photo is a great choice for women with a bit more melanin in their skin. Depending on your complexion it can read chocolate or more nude.

July is gone, and August is here, and before you know it, it’s going to be Christmas. Crazy right? Well product wise, July was really good to me, and I came across some products that I absolutely fell in love with, and will be using them from now on. All but one are new to me, minus a rekindled love affair that I missed so much.
As you will see, much of the focus is on skin, as it’s been hot and I just want to keep my skin looking as fresh and clean as possible, as well as when I do actually wear makeup, make sure that it looks flawless!
So check out what my favorite products from July have been!

I will be completely honest and transparent with you. My makeup used to suck. Like, what was I thinking used to suck. Who let me out the house like this used to suck. How was I smiling so boldly in a picture like this used to suck. Just wanted to be honest for a minute and let you know hey sis, I’ve been there. We all have. But, we don’t have to stay there.
I have a lot of friends and clients come up to me and tell me how much they love my makeup, and if only theirs could look like mine. Their assumption is that mine only looks like this because I practice makeup artistry as a trade. Nope, that’s not it, because I know a number of women who achieve the same look, they’ve just figured some things out.
I was trying to help some of my friends kinda get the cheat code to better makeup, and I kept coming to the same things as to why their makeup may not be turning out that great. And I will let you know now, it has nothing to do with strictly buying high end products.
So if you’re trying to assess where you are going wrong with your makeup application, here are 5 reasons your makeup probably sucks:
